Restoring Life Through Clean and Living Water

In Agulu Mola Village, life was once marked by hardship and suffering due to dirty water. For many years, families relied on a distant and contaminated water source: a muddy stream shared with animals. During the rainy season, water carrying dirt and waste would collect in the stream, further polluting the water and placing the community’s health at serious risk.

Each day, mostly women and young girls would walk several kilometers under the burning sun, carrying heavy jerrycans in search of water. This daily burden often meant that girls missed school and women had little time for other productive activities. The impacts of using unsafe water were severe. Waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, typhoid and skin infections were common. Many households lived in constant fear as illness became a normal part of life. The community longed for change but lacked the means to achieve it.

In August 2025, hard rock beneath the ground left Agulu Community without a borehole to provide clean water despite two drilling attempts. Despite this setback, the community remained steadfast in faith and hope trusting that their prayers would be answered in God’s perfect timing.

Hope was restored through an act of compassion inspired by the love of Christ. With support from Global Ministry Partners, the longstanding struggle for clean water came to an end in April 2026 when a lasting solution was achieved. Following months of planning and prayer, a borehole was successfully drilled at the center of Agulu Mola Village in Unyama Sub-County, Gulu District, Northern Uganda.

The impact was immediate and transformative. Clean and safe water is now readily accessible to every household in Agulu Mola Village, improving the overall health of the community. Women and girls will no longer spend hours walking long distances. Instead they have time to engage in farming, small businesses, and education.

Beyond the physical benefits, the borehole stands as a symbol of hope, love and dignity restored. The community of Agulu Mola now thrives with a renewed sense of unity and purpose, grateful for the life-changing gift of clean water. Through this act of kindness, they have experienced not only improved living conditions but also the tangible expression of Christ’s love in action.
