Our Year at a Glance

The 2025-2026 reporting period marked a significant year of growth and impact for Lifted Generation Ministry (LGM). Guided by Christian faith and commitment to holistic community transformation, LGM continued to serve vulnerable children, women, youth, and families through integrated programmes that address both physical and spiritual needs.

Across the communities of Unyama Sub- County in Gulu District, many families continue to face limited access to safe water, inadequate sanitation, poor healthcare, youth unemployment, educational barriers, and persistent poverty. LGM responded to these challenges by implementing practical, community-driven interventions while nurturing hope, resilience, and spiritual growth through Christian ministry.

While celebrating these achievements, we remain aware that significant challenges persist. Many communities continue to require improved healthcare, livelihoods, education, safe water, and psychosocial support. These realities inspire us to deepen our commitment, strengthen partnerships, and expand our reach so that more vulnerable people can experience lasting transformation.

This report highlights the collective efforts of the staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, churches, community leaders, government partners, and our valued supporters. Together, LGM is demonstrating that sustainable development is most effective when communities are empowered, partnerships are strengthened and faith is translated into compassionate action.

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends, Partners and Supporters,

It is with gratitude to God and great appreciation for our partners that I present the Lifted Generation Ministry 2025-2026 Impact Report.

This report reflects a year of faith in action, meaningful partnerships and measurable progress toward our vision of healthy, empowered, and transformed communities living in dignity through Christ’s Love. Every activity implemented during the year was driven by our commitment to serve vulnerable communities with compassion while responding to both immediate needs and long-term development challenges.

We have witnessed remarkable transformation through improved access to clean water, better hygiene practices, increased support for girls’ education, strengthened psychosocial care and expanded opportunities for spiritual growth. These achievements represent more than statistics, they reflect healthier families, children returning to school, women regaining dignity and communities finding renewed hope.

The progress has been made possible through the generosity and collaboration of our development partners, churches, local government authorities, schools, community leaders and members, volunteers and the dedicated staff and Board of Directors of Lifted Generation Ministry. Their commitment continues to inspire us to serve with integrity, accountability, and excellence.

As we celebrate what has been achieved, we also recognize that many families continue to face significant challenges. Access to healthcare, livelihoods, education, safe water, and mental health services remains limited in many communities. These realities strengthen efforts to resolve and expand our programmes, deepen our partnerships, and continue investing in sustainable solutions that empower communities to thrive.

PROGRAMME IMPACT

At Lifted Generation Ministry (LGM), we believe that meaningful development goes beyond implementing activities, it is about transforming lives, strengthening communities, and restoring hope. Throughout the 2025-2026 reporting period, LGM’s programmes responded to the most pressing needs identified by communities while promoting dignity, resilience, and spiritual growth.

Working alongside community members, churches, local leaders, local government, schools, and development partners/friends, LGM implemented integrated interventions under five thematic programme areas. The following highlights the progress made and the lives transformed through these initiatives.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene: Bringing Clean Water, Better Health and Hope.

The Challenge. Access to safe and reliable water remains one of the greatest challenges facing many rural communities in Gulu District. Before LGM’s intervention, families relied on seasonal streams, unprotected wells, and contaminated water sources for drinking, cooking, and washing. Women and children often walked several kilometres each day to collect water, exposing them to physical risks and reducing time available for school, farming, and other productive activities.

Poor sanitation facilities and inadequate hygiene practices also contributed to frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases, particularly among children. In schools, limited menstrual hygiene support affected girls’ attendance and participation in learning.

LGM’s Response. Recognizing that access to safe water is fundamental to health, education, and economic productivity, LGM continued implementing the MORE JESUS, MORE WASH programme to improve community well-being while promoting healthy behaviours and Christian values.

LGM collaborated with community leaders and members, local government authorities, schools and development partners to expand access to clean water and improve sanitation practices.

The Ministry successfully drilled nine boreholes, built 1 WASH  slab, repaired two boreholes and constructed three spring wells, bringing clean and safe drinking water closer to households that previously depended on unsafe water sources. Community members actively participated in identifying locations, supervising construction, and establishing local management committees to ensure long-term maintenance of the facilities.

In schools, hygiene education sessions encouraged learners to adopt positive sanitation practices, including proper handwashing, environmental cleanliness, and safe water handling. Educational wall paintings and hygiene demonstrations reinforced key health messages, creating healthier learning environments.

Recognizing the barriers adolescent girls face during menstruation, LGM also conducted Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) education sessions in four schools and five communities/villages in Unyama Sub-County. Girls received practical training on menstrual health, personal hygiene, and reproductive health while vulnerable learners received reusable sanitary pads that enabled them to remain in school with confidence and dignity.

The Difference LGM Made. The impact of the MORE JESU-S MORE WASH programmes extended far beyond infrastructure. Families now spend less time collecting water and more time on education, farming, childcare, and income-generating activities. Improved access to safe water has reduced exposure to waterborne diseases with, while hygiene promotion has encouraged healthier behaviours among children and adults.

For girls, menstrual hygiene education and access to reusable sanitary pads restored confidence, reduced absenteeism, and created a more supportive learning environment. Communities have also taken greater responsibility for maintaining water sources, demonstrating increased ownership and commitment to sustainability.

Health and Mental Health: Improving Health and Restoring Hope

The Challenge. Healthy communities are the foundation of sustainable development. However, many households in the areas served by LGM continue to face barriers in accessing quality healthcare. Long distances to health facilities, limited health information, inadequate maternal and child health services and growing mental health concerns continue to affect vulnerable families.

Many individuals also struggle with emotional distress, grief, trauma, domestic conflict, and economic stress. Unfortunately, access to professional counselling and mental health services remains limited, particularly in rural communities.

LGM’s Response. Throughout the reporting period, LGM promoted community health through awareness campaigns, health education, psychosocial support and faith-based counselling during  community Bible study engagements at the different sites.

Working alongside community leaders and health stakeholders, the Ministry encouraged preventive healthcare practices, improved health-seeking behaviour and strengthened referrals for vulnerable individuals requiring specialized services.

A major milestone during the year was the initiation of the Agung Community Health Centre, a strategic investment aimed at expanding access to essential healthcare services for women, children, older persons and underserved communities. Although still under development, the facility represents LGM’s long-term commitment to improving community health outcomes. Once complete the facility will be used as an outreach point for community health activities, VHTs meeting, immunizations and vaccination point, hosting medical camps and also other community health programs under the leadership of the in-charge Angaya Health Centre III in Unyama Sub-County, Gulu District.

Mental health and psychosocial support were integrated across community activities, including Bible study fellowships, counselling sessions and home visits. These platforms created safe spaces where individuals could openly discuss personal challenges, receive encouragement and build resilience through peer support and Christian fellowship.

The Difference LGM Made. Communities demonstrated increased awareness of preventive healthcare practices and greater willingness to seek medical support when needed. Individuals experiencing emotional distress reported improved well-being through counselling, prayer, and peer support.

The integration of mental health services into community programmes helped reduce stigma around emotional challenges while encouraging families to support one another. By combining practical health interventions with Christian ministry, LGM strengthened both physical and emotional well-being within the communities it serves.

Education and Youth Development: Empowering Children and Young People to Reach Their Potential

The Challenge. Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty. Yet many children continue to face barriers that affect school attendance, participation, and academic performance. Poor sanitation facilities, limited menstrual hygiene support, and inadequate life skills education particularly affect adolescent girls and vulnerable learners.

Beyond academic achievement, many young people also require guidance, mentorship, and positive role models to help them make informed life choices and develop into responsible future leaders.

LGM’s Response. LGM continued partnering with five schools to create safer, healthier, and more supportive learning environments for children and young people. The schools are; Ogul P/s, Unyama P/s, Rock View P/s, Coo Pil P/s, and Agung Community School.

Through school-based hygiene promotion activities, learners received practical education on sanitation, handwashing and healthy living. Menstrual Hygiene Management sessions equipped adolescent girls with knowledge and confidence to manage menstruation safely while reducing stigma and promoting school attendance.

To support girls from vulnerable households, reusable sanitary pads were distributed, helping them remain in school throughout the academic year.

Recognizing the importance of holistic development, the Ministry also promoted Christian values through Bible distribution, children’s discipleship activities, and school fellowship programmes that encouraged leadership, discipline, integrity, and respect for others.

We also constructed a classroom block and four stance latrine in Agung community school that how host over 200 learners.

The Difference LGM Made. The education programme contributed to healthier schools, improved confidence among adolescent girls, and increased awareness of personal hygiene and reproductive health. Teachers reported greater participation among girls following menstrual hygiene interventions, while learners demonstrated improved hygiene practices both at school and at home.

Christian values education complemented academic learning by nurturing responsible behaviour, compassion, and leadership among young people.

Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods: Building Resilient Households and Sustainable Livelihoods

The Challenge. Economic insecurity remains one of the greatest barriers to sustainable development in the communities served by Lifted Generation Ministry. Most households depend on small-scale farming and informal businesses, both of which are vulnerable to climate change, fluctuating market prices, and limited access to financial services. High youth unemployment and limited vocational opportunities continue to constrain economic growth, leaving many families unable to meet basic needs such as education, healthcare, and nutrition.

Community consultations conducted during the reporting period consistently identified unemployment, low household incomes, and limited business skills as priority concerns. Women and young people expressed a strong desire for opportunities to acquire practical skills, access financial literacy training, and participate in income-generating activities that could improve their livelihoods.

LGM’s Response. Recognizing that economic empowerment is essential for long-term community resilience, LGM initiated the groundwork for a sustainable livelihoods programme that will complement its existing interventions in health, education, and WASH.

During the reporting period, the Ministry conducted community consultations and needs assessments to identify priority livelihood opportunities and understand local economic challenges. Discussions with community members, local leaders, and development partners informed the design of future interventions focused on entrepreneurship, vocational skills development, financial literacy, and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). The ministry has already facilitated in the establishment of two VSLA groups in Agung and Coo Pill villages respectively.

The Ministry is continuing to mobilize partnerships and resources to support the implementation of livelihood programmes that will strengthen household incomes and reduce dependency among vulnerable families.

Although the programme is still in its development phase, these preparatory efforts and learnings from the two existence groups have established a strong foundation for expanding economic opportunities and promoting self-reliance within the communities served. The planned livelihood programme aims to increase household incomes, strengthen food security, promote financial independence, and reduce poverty among vulnerable families. By equipping women and young people with practical skills and entrepreneurship opportunities, LGM seeks to empower communities to become more resilient and less dependent on external support.

Community Development and Social Protection: Strengthening Communities Through Faith, Leadership and Compassion

The Challenge. Communities thrive when people are connected, supported, and empowered to work together. However, many vulnerable households continue to experience social isolation, family conflict, gender-based violence, child neglect, emotional distress, and limited access to counselling and support services.

Community consultations also highlighted a growing need for spiritual guidance, mentorship, and safe spaces where individuals could find encouragement, healing, and hope. Churches and local leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening Christian values alongside community development initiatives.

LGM’s Response. Faith remains the foundation of Lifted Generation Ministry’s work. Throughout the reporting period, LGM strengthened community cohesion by expanding Bible study fellowships, promoting Christian discipleship, providing counselling, and mobilizing community members to participate actively in local development initiatives.

Five Bible study centres continued to serve as platforms for worship, learning, counselling, and fellowship. These gatherings brought together men, women, youth, and children to study Scripture, share experiences, support one another, and address common community challenges through faith and dialogue.

Beyond spiritual growth, Bible study groups became trusted spaces where participants received psychosocial support, family counselling, parenting guidance, and encouragement during difficult circumstances. Community volunteers and church leaders were equipped to facilitate discussions that promoted peace, unity, forgiveness, and responsible leadership.

LGM also distributed Bibles and children’s Christian learning materials to strengthen personal discipleship and encourage Christian education within homes, schools, and churches.

In its first year, the Community Development and Social Protection programme strengthened relationships, restored hope, and promoted a culture of compassion and mutual support within participating communities. Through regular fellowship and counselling, many individuals found renewed confidence to overcome personal struggles, while families reported improved relationships and stronger social support networks.

Community leaders observed increased volunteerism, greater participation in community activities, and stronger collaboration between churches, local government, and residents. Bible study centres became places where faith inspired practical action, encouraging participants to support vulnerable neighbours and contribute to community development.

By integrating spiritual care with social support, LGM continued to demonstrate that holistic development addresses both the physical and emotional needs of individuals while strengthening the social fabric of communities.

A Year of Meaningful Impact

The achievements highlighted in this report demonstrate the power of integrated, faith-based community development. By addressing essential needs such as safe water, health, education, spiritual growth, and community participation, LGM is helping communities build healthier lives, stronger families, and a more hopeful future.

ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH, ACCOUNTABILITY AND THE WAY FORWARD

Strengthening Our Organization for Greater Impact.  During the 2025-2026 reporting period, Lifted Generation Ministry (LGM) continued investing in its institutional capacity to ensure that programmes are implemented effectively, resources are managed responsibly, and communities receive high-quality services. The Ministry strengthened its governance structures, improved operational systems, expanded strategic partnerships, and enhanced accountability mechanisms. These investments have positioned LGM to deliver greater impact while maintaining transparency and stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.

During the year, LGM achieved several important institutional milestones that strengthened its operational capacity and credibility.

The organization successfully completed registration with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), reinforcing its legal status and positioning the Ministry for future growth and partnership opportunities.

LGM also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Unyama Sub-County, strengthening collaboration with local government in planning, coordinating, and implementing community development programmes.

To improve coordination and service delivery, the Ministry established its operational office in Laroo, Gulu City, providing a permanent base for programme management, stakeholder engagement, and administrative operations.

Operational efficiency was further enhanced through the acquisition of transport equipment, including a vehicle and motorcycle, enabling staff to conduct field supervision, monitoring visits, and community outreach more effectively.

Partnerships that Made the Difference. LGM firmly believes that sustainable development is achieved through collaboration. The progress highlighted throughout this report reflects the collective efforts of development partners, government institutions, churches, schools, community leaders, volunteers, and the communities themselves.

Global Ministry Partners (GMP)

Global Ministry Partners remained LGM’s principal development partner during the reporting period. Their financial and technical support enabled the implementation of integrated programmes in water, health, education, and community development.

Planet Changers

Through this collaboration and support  from Planet Changers, 3 wellspring boxes were constructed in the communities and improved access to clean water.

Local Government

Close collaboration with Gulu District Local Government and Unyama Sub-county strengthened programme coordination, community mobilization, and technical guidance. Government officers actively participated in planning, supervision, and monitoring activities, ensuring alignment with national and district development priorities.

Churches and Religious Leaders

Local churches played a vital role in promoting community mobilization, Bible study, counselling, and spiritual development. Their leadership strengthened community trust and encouraged active participation in programme activities.

Schools

School administrators and teachers partnered with LGM to implement WASH activities, menstrual hygiene education, Christian values programmes, and learner support initiatives. Their commitment contributed to healthier learning environments and improved student well-being.

Community Leaders and Volunteers

Village leaders, volunteers, and Bible study facilitators served as trusted links between LGM and local communities. Their dedication ensured effective programme implementation, beneficiary follow-up, and community ownership.

Gratitude

The achievements highlighted in this report are the result of collective commitment, shared vision, and unwavering partnership.
